The LIFE Miera Project began in July 2014 and will run until December 2018. Over the course of four and a half years, multiple conservation, dissemination, monitoring and research actions are being carried out aimed at improving the different habitats and species present in the Natura 2000 network sites of the Miera basin.

These are the areas or habitats in which we are working:

Montane Forest

Riparian Forest

Peat and Swamp Bogs

Miera Estuary

Dunes of the Somo Puntal

Santa Marina Island

These are the species of flora and fauna in which we focused our measures of conservation:

Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

European Otter (Lutra lutra)

Stag Beetle (Lucanus cervus)

Southern Damselfly (Coenagrion mercuriale)

Woodwardia radicans
