Measures like a temporary ban on hunting on the farms; and little or no use of the ‘montanera’ (fattening of the pigs) in areas of holm oak, leave food resources available. In the Côa valley there are traditional dovecotes, almost all of which have been abandoned. ATN has restored quite a few in the Bonelli’s Eagle area. The plan is to build lofts in the Tagus International SPAs, near the area where Bonelli’s eagles live.
