The river canyons have different representations along the Iberian west, forming one of the main habitats present in the area and one of the largest longitudinal extension.
They are often equipped with rocky crags of great magnitude; they play a fundamental role in the distribution of life in the Great Ecosystem Western Iberian because plants located in the area are thermal as they find a special climate and habitat on the canyons bottom that allows them to develop themselves. Consequently, the rich biodiversity of the area is increased and is also become the nesting area of a varied and abundant community of rock birds.
