Guide to Nature and Ethnography. Eastern Mountain of Cantabria. Paradise to discover
“Guide to Nature and Ethnography. Eastern Mountain of Cantabria. Paradise to be discovered” prepared with the collaboration of the Parliament of Cantabria.
The main objectives of this publication are to highlight the natural and cultural resources of the Eastern Mountain of Cantabria and to disseminate these values among the local population and visitors.
The “Guide to Nature and Ethnography of the Eastern Mountain of Cantabria. Paradise to be Discovered” includes a description of the geographical situation of this enclave, its climatological and geomorphological characteristics, its main ecosystems of the Eastern Mountain: deciduous mixed forests, oak forests, beech woods, Cantabrian oaks, heaths, peat bogs, rocky and cuttings, as well as the diversity of fauna.
The guide has a space dedicated to the culture and ethnography of the pasiegos; their architecture, their games and sports, their gastronomic specialities, their handicrafts and their traditional festivals. This book also proposes several itineraries by car or on foot.
The Caducifolio Forest of Monte Hijedo
This book brings together the results of an exhaustive research work on the deciduous forest of Monte Hijedo, carried out by Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre, with the intention of bringing this natural area of Cantabria closer to everyone, from the point of view of the environment without overlooking the singularity of the humid environment in which it is inscribed.
Wildlife and Flora Guide Camargo
This is an inventory of flora and fauna of the municipality of Camargo (Cantabria), the result of a research project on the natural environment sponsored by the City Council of Camargo, with the aim of knowing and disseminating the biological richness of this part of the bay of Santander.
Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre

Estuaries of Cantabria. The Solía estuary: Contributions to the knowledge of the history and evolution of spaces in a estuary of the Bay of Santander
The Ría de Solía, like the other Cantabrian estuaries, is a geographical feature of very recent origin in geological terms, formed in the last thousands of years, when the human species was already settled in the territory. The geomorphological history of the Ria de Solía is reviewed, including the very important human interventions between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, which have substantially modified this estuary.
