FNYH invites you to join the environmental volunteer campaigns that we carry out in Cantabria and Castilla y León throughout the year. As a volunteer you can help us plant trees, survey wildlife, keep a beach clean or collect native seeds.

Nature and Man on the Pasiega Mountain

Activities will take place at the headwaters of the Miera, Pisueña and Trueba rivers, will involve collaborating on indigenous forest plantations in areas where livestock activity has been abandoned, and it is possible to promote the recovery of forests. These forests will one day form the ecological corridors that will guarantee the flow of species along the Cantabrian Mountain Range. In addition, we will visit the herds of lacha sheep, red cow pasiega, donkey and losino horses, which grazed in the Alto Pas and Miera Farm Network and which moult with the change of season.

The Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Environment and the FEADER funds are working together.

Volunteering in the Iberian West

The activities will be carried out at the Reserva Biológica Campanarios de Azaba (provincia de Salamanca). There you will have the opportunity to participate directly in some of the conservation actions of the LIFE+Nature project “Conservation of Biodiversity in the Western Iberian” that FNYH is carrying out, collaborating in habitat restoration activities (reforestation with native trees), fauna monitoring, improvement of rabbit habitat, etc.
