We will start from Selaya towards Pisueña, a town of less than 200 inhabitants, where we will be able to admire the typical Pasiega cabins. Then, we will ascend the Alto del Caracol until we reach a viewpoint, where we will make the next stop. From there we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Pisueña basin, with the villages of Selaya and Villacarnedo at the bottom of the valley and the slopes dotted with cabins pasiegas. Our route will continue down the Alto del Caracol to the cantil de Ajanedo, in the municipality of Miera, where we will be able to observe one of the most important colonies of lioned vulture in this valley.
We will return a few minutes on our steps to take the road that will take us, bordering the Miera River, to the Hayedo de Valdició, noted for its remarkable state of conservation and for hosting centuries-old beech trees. After this stop. We’ll make our way back to Selaya.
