Activity:

As we enter the heart of Pasiega Mountain, we will see the colony of lioned vultures of Linto. Our first stop will be the viewpoint of the “Casa del Rey”, a strategic place from which to observe the process of obtaining wood for the Spanish Navy in the Royal Shipyards of Guarnizo and the Royal Artillery Factories of Liérganes and La Cavada. In addition, we will contemplate the glacial modeling of the valley, with its landscape of meadows, cabins and alleys.

The route continues to “El Cabañal”, Pasiega estate, where we will enter the typical hut to learn about the traditional austere pasiego way of life, as well as the nature conservation works carried out by the Nature and Man Foundation.

Then we will take the road to the Valdició beech forest, one of the best preserved in the mountain, where centuries-old beech trees live. There, you will learn about the ecosystem of this type of forest.
